Balancing Parenting and a Career is not easy! It can leave you stressed and feeling guilty. When you are a working parent, there are many challenges in family life. With careful planning and problem solving, these challenges can help children learn a sense of responsibility and independence, as well as developing teamwork with your family. Studies of career families show that there are four major challenges for the working parent:

  • Resolving personal guilt for being a working parent
  • Finding quality time for your children, partner and yourself
  • Being in a job that works for your family
  • Finding quality childcare for all ages

In this class, we will discuss how to evaluate priorities and keeping a healthy balance. problem solve shared responsibilities, guidelines for choosing childcare and safety for latch-key kids, and recognizing and coping with stress related to balancing parenting and a career.

Our Practical Parent Education classes are taught by a single dad who is passionate about finding the right solutions for a variety of parenting concerns. He juggles a busy and demanding career with parenting a ten year old son.

These classes tackle a variety of parenting topics in an informal, fun way. There are no “right” answers that work for every family. We will give you a forum to start having discussions about parenting within your family and tips and resources that may help you find solutions.  Join us for a fun evening of sharing ideas.
